Degree in Translation / Interpreting - English Language (1986) from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP); a Master's Degree (1995) and a Ph.D. (2002) in Communication and Semiotics - area of concentration: Literature and Arts Interfaces, also from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP); a Post-Doctorate project on the formation of audio descriptors, from Universidade Estadual do Ceará (UECE). She has been an adjunct professor at the University of Brasília - UnB (since 2009), she is linked to the Foreign Languages and Translation Department, to the Translation Course and the Postgraduate Program in Translation Studies (POSTRAD), where she works mainly in the following subjects: literary and audiovisual translation. She has published works in the areas of literary criticism, intersemiotic translation, audiovisual translation, and accessibility. Coordinates the Acesso Livre research group focusing on audio description for people with visual diversity and subtitling for people with hearing diversity. Founding member of the Center for Assistive Technology, Accessibility and Inclusion - NTAAI. Vice-director of the Letters Institute - UnB (2018-2019). Organizer and co-author of the Guia para Produções Audiovisuais Acessíveis (Guide to Accessible Audiovisual Productions) - SAV/MinC. She is an audio descriptor.
